What is WIOA
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) took effect on July 1, 2015, which supersedes the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and amends the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, the Wagner-Peyser Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. WIOA formally adopts many parts of Illinois’ progressive workforce development model on a nationwide basis, with the goal of ensuring that our workforce system is job-driven – responding to the needs of the employers and preparing workers for jobs available now and in the future.

A message from the Program Director…
“The hardest battles are the ones we fight within.
When the internal war is won,
we can conquer anything externally.”
